LOS ANGELES, CA, USA, April 20, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — A record 4.4 million Americans voluntarily left their jobs in February; job postings of 11.3 million are just below the December 2021 record, according to the Labor Department’s survey of job postings and labor turnover. The latest report builds on months of economic strength, with U.S. employers creating a record 7 million jobs over the past year. The economy added 678,000 jobs in February alone, sending the unemployment rate to a pandemic low of 3.8%, according to Labor Department data.
Reputable Westside Realtor, Limor Zamir, believes that as an employer, it has a duty to be reasonable and to provide good working conditions. “As an employer and mentor to other agents, I believe it is my duty to show resilience and passion in what I do,” says Zamir. “That way my team continues to see the business perspective, encouraging them not to quit their jobs.”

Zamir continues, “The decline in unemployment since 2021 is primarily due to what the pandemic has done to our mental health. At the same time, I think engaging with my people every day, reinforcing our purpose in the business and taking care of their needs to help them mentally and financially refocus on their goals despite the continuous changes and challenges we all face on a daily basis since Covid hit.
The good reading — which has added to the Federal Reserve’s determination to begin raising interest rates this month — has also given workers new leverage as they seek better working conditions and higher salaries. Americans who changed jobs saw a typical 6.6% increase over the past year, while those who stayed saw their wages rise 5.4%, according to a widely tracked measure of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta wage growth. Both figures, reported as three-month averages, are at or near the highest rates since the late 1990s.
“The country’s economy is people-driven because its people are motivated and focused on their goals,” concludes Zamir.
